South Africa has agriculture that produces grains, citrus fruit, subtropical fruit, livestock, game, and marine (South Africa).  Their diet consists of vegetables, legumes, some meat and roots (Advameg inc).

Industry and Tourism
a) Are industry and tourism related to geography and climate?

Yes, industry and tourism are related to geography and climate.  Tourist activities such as hiking and going to the beach depends on the weather and temperature.  Also, the area needs to have a nature trail to interest tourists.  Industry needs a stable environment where they can work without worries of bad weather and erosion.

Cultural Activities
a) Are there any notable historical events that add to the climate/culture story?

In 1870-1890 the British annexed Transvaal and defeats the Zulus in Natal.  There have been a lot of fighting between the different groups of people in South Africa and with the British (BBC News).
